With the end of 2017 approaching quickly, we shift our eyes not
from what has been, but what will be. As 2018 draws near, we
decided to research 5 interior design trends to keep an eye out for
in 2018. While some of these may surely fail, we believe that
the overall ideas will remain.
1.
METALLIC FIXTURES
This is a trend that is going to carry over from 2017. Metallic
fixtures can create a great contrasting tint, or can add a little
shine to a room. Metals also display elegance and sophistication
without being too loud. This trend is also carrying over to
kitchens in the form of copper sinks.
2. CONCRETE
ACCENTS
In 2017 concrete was a popular material for countertops and
flooring. This trend is expected to not only continue, but also
expand. For 2018, concrete is expected to be used in furniture,
decorative accessories, and wallcoverings. Since concrete is
naturally a cool tone, dyes and tints can be added to change the
color, and help create a contrast with any warm tones that are in
the room.

3. KITCHENS
WITH COLOR
Although white kitchens are still popular, 2018's new trend is
to add a pop of color into the kitchen with other neutrals. Grays
and blues seem to be the two most popular colors to use. Warm wood
tones are also gaining popularity.
4. WOOD
MATERIALS
In 2018, both natural and reclaimed wood will be popular. These
wood materials could be used as accents (such as a wooden bowl in
the kitchen), tables, or chairs. Wood materials ae durable, and
complement a wide range of interior styles.
5.
PATTERNED PLANTS
Plants have been a trend for years, but in 2018 this trend will
branch out to patterned plants. Patterned plants are a simple way
to add life and color to any room. We have a few examples
below.
