Step-By-Step Instructions

Note:

Leather Scratch Remover restores the color to surface scratches in aniline and pull up leathers. It will not work on pigmented (top coated) leather. Do not use on nubuck or suede.  Scratch Remover will harm nubuck and suede.

Step 1

Pre-test Leather Scratch Remover in an inconspicuous area to be sure there is no color loss. It is not unusual for a small amount of color to transfer to the cloth, but the spot to be repaired should not show as a light spot.

Step 2

Apply a small amount of Scratch Remover to the cloth.

Step 3

Use the cloth to rub the Scratch Remover over the scratched area. Generally, it's best to rub in a circular motion. Continue until the scratch is blended. Massaging may be needed on deep scratches or if the repair area gets darker. You may see a little color transferred to the cloth.  This is normal.

Step 4

Allow the spot to dry. You may use a hair dryer to force the drying.

Step 5            

Leather should always have a coat of Leather Protector to avoid permanent staining from spills and to promote easier cleaning in the future. The repaired area will need a new application of protector.  Use Leather Protector Wipes or Leather Protector to apply a new coat of Protector.

Step 6

Allow the Protector to dry for about an hour before using the furniture. Maximum protection is achieved after 24 hours of drying.
